Alameda Power Plate® Classes
Symmetry Health Center offers group exercise in it’s cutting edge new studio composed of Power Plate® Technology, and a certified personal trainer.
Power Plate® machines use the principles of Acceleration Training™ to stimulate the body’s natural response to vibration. These vibrations transmit waves of energy throughout the body, activating muscle contractions between 25 and 50 times per second, enhancing overall performance in sessions as short as 15-30 minutes a day, 3 times a week.
Acceleration Training with Power Plate® machines creates instability in the human body, as with each vibration the body is forced to perform reflexive muscle actions, multiple times per second. Furthermore, these contractions must work in multiple dimensions as the Power Plate® machines actually oscillate in all three planes, exactly as the human body is designed to do.
The net result is an incredible improvement in force production, or strength and power.

Work your ENTIRE body on the Power Plate platform with a wide range of fun, innovative fitness techniques. The class is moderate to high in intensity and you can expect new challenges as you get stronger. SymmetryFit is designed to change the way you think, look and feel. This class is guaranteed to take your training to the next level and is most effective when done 2-3 days a week. Each class will vary depending on the instructors personal training style.
Stretch, Strength & Balance
This is the Power Plate class that welcomes all fitness levels and is the perfect beginner experience on the machine. This class provides the perfect combination of stretches and conditioning exercises, all while focusing on balance and coordination. This 30 minute experience will help you reach your fitness goals regardless of your fitness level.
Power Rehab – Lower Extremity and Core Strength
If you want to focus on strengthening the the lower limbs post injury or pre-race this is the class for you. A series of exercises will focus on creating stability in the ankles, knees and hips all while paying attention to the importance of flexibility of the leg musculature. Lower body conditioning is crucial for overall strength and well-being. Low back and core stability are also an intricate part of this class, making it the perfect environment for those with lower spine weakness.
Power Rehab – Upper Extremity and Core Strength
Do you suffer from shoulder and neck pain? Do you have an old shoulder injury or tennis elbow? This is the perfect class to help you get back in the swing of things. A strong emphasis is put on the upper extremities and core musculature to create the perfect routine to get you back on track.
Total Body Acceleration
If you are looking to improve your strength, endurance, agility, flexibility, and overall fitness level, this acceleration class is for you! Work your ENTIRE body on the Power Plate platform with a wide range of fun, innovative fitness techniques. The class is moderate to high in intensity and you can expect new challenges as you get faster and stronger. This class is designed to change the way you think, look and feel. Whatever your fitness level, this class is guaranteed to take your training to the next level. This class is most effective when done 2-3 days a week minimum.
Bring a towel and leave your baggage at home. Peel off your stress, your expectations, and your self-imposed limitations. This fitness class will work you through a series of exercises utilizing the Power Plate, TRX suspension bands, and other props. Come for the sweat, stay for the inner calmness, have fun and don’t forget to breathe. This class is the ultimate combination of fitness class with a touch of relaxation. Suitable for most fitness levels.
This class is appropriate for all levels. Perfect relaxation class with heavy emphasis on long held stretching, deep breathing and massage. Calm music and dim lights will help you dive inward and leave feeling limber, relaxed and worry free.
Core Fat Burn
Core Fat Burn is the ultimate core conditioning class! A quick progression of exercises in a circuit style format will warm up your entire body quickly, and keep your heart rate elevated for the entire class. Increase lean muscle mass and reduce body fat with a multitude of cardiovascular and core exercises utilizing Bosu balls and other props. *This class is designed for the intermediate to advanced Power Plate® student, not recommended for beginners.
