The Yoga Sutras, widely regarded as the authoritative text on yoga, is a collection of verses outlining the eight limbs of yoga. As asana (posture or pose) is only one of the eight limbs of yoga, these “threads” of wisdom (as sutra translates from Sanskrit) offer guidelines for living a meaningful and purposeful life on and off the yoga mat. This Vinyasa based class will examine different sutras each week and practitioners of all levels will explore an alignment-based, dynamic flow that cultivates greater stamina, strength and flexibility. Students will be challenged to sweat, laugh and look deep beyond their perceived limitations. The Yoga Sutras offer us a precise inner mapping of the essential truths for strengthening awareness and freeing ourselves from self-imposed obstacles. It is a crystal clear model of living consciously in the present, being sure of our path and our choices.
