Aviva Levine is back and excited to share another round of TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercises) with the Symmetry Yoga community. This workshop quickly sold out the first time and the benefits of this amazing technique are invaluable.

1:30-2:30pm – Intro to TRE (explanation of TRE®, Forrest Yoga abdominals and some Pelvic exercises)
2:30-3:30pm – Part II – TRE®
TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.
TRE® is based on the fundamental idea, backed by recent research, that stress, tension and trauma is both psychological and physical. TRE®’s reflexive muscle vibrations generally feel pleasant and soothing. After doing TRE®, many people report feelings of peace and well-being.
Our fast paced modern lifestyle (which runs on the adrenaline of our sympathetic nervous system) chronically triggers and tightens the psoas – making it literally ready to run, freeze or fight. A constantly contracting psoas due to stress or tension, eventually begins to shorten leading to a host of painful conditions including low back pain, sacroiliac pain, sciatica, disc problems, scoliosis, hip degeneration, knee pain, menstruation pain, infertility, and digestive complications.
