Restorative Workshop with Hot Stones & Aromatherapy

Sunday,  February 16th from  1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Come melt your holiday stress away! Winter is a time of stillness, both for nature and ourselves. We use this time of year to rest, reflect and replenish; nourishing our body and mind to gather strength for the new season ahead. Join us as we honor winter and lay a foundation for spring by taking the time to slow down and turn inward.

Restorative yoga is a powerful and therapeutic practice that uses props to support the body combined with guided meditation to encourage stillness of the mind. Immerse yourself in this seasonal workshop experiencing a combination of gentle yoga poses, guided meditation, aromatherapy, hot stones, and healing hands-on assistance. During the practice, you will cultivate a deep sense of relaxation to soothe and cleanse your nervous system, boost your immune system and deepen mind/body awareness. Emerge with a sense of renewal and connection, better prepared to take on the challenges of the season.

All levels are welcome. Please dress comfortably in layers as you may feel chilly, even in a heated room.

*Please arrive 10 minutes early to get settled in.

Yoga and Ayurveda Workshop

Saturday,  February 1st, 1:30 – 3:30pm

Revitalize your practice with skill yoga instructor, Ana Murphy and Ayurveda Health Educator, Melisa Moreno. Yoga and Ayurveda are sister practices that originated in India thousands of years ago. According to Ayurvedic principles, each of us has a unique mind-body constitution, called doshas. These doshas determine how we interact with the world; from what kind of food we eat and how we exercise to how we manage emotions and speak. They are our life’s blueprint!

In this workshop, you will learn about Ayurveda and how to approach yoga poses from an Ayurvedic perspective.

We will focus on getting familiar with:
– Ayurvedic constitution (doshas),
– Ayurvedic practices, such as nutrition, breathing (Pranayama) and  -healthy routines,
– How to approach yoga poses for each dosha.

You will complete a short quiz to help you have a general idea of what your dosha may be.

We will also have a physical Yoga practice where you’ll apply Ayurvedic principles based on your dosha. You’ll learn how long to hold a pose, how fast your transitions should be, and how challenging the pose can be.

Yin and Restorative Yoga with Catina Harvey

Saturdays,  January 25th, February 22nd, March 21st
12:00 –1:00pm

Both Yin and Yang yoga styles move energy throughout the body and help improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Yin yoga also offers something that Yang yoga does not; an emphasis on stillness and longer holds. Most forms of yoga focus on building muscle strength and flexibility while Yin yoga centers on stretching deeper connective tissues, such as the ligaments, tendons, and deep fascia tissue which surrounds the muscles.

If you are looking to improve your joint health, increase mobility, improve organ function, relieve stress, create emotional healing and invite stillness into your life, join me for a series of passive practices that will help bring balance to the Yang lifestyle.  Please wear comfortable yoga clothing.
