Strength and Ease in Arm Balances

Saturday, September 28th 1:30-3:30pm 

This workshop, taught by Iryna Lymar, will redefine foundational postures by applying various techniques for shoulder stabilization and core strengthening. We will focus on principles for healthy alignment of the hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders. Some challenging asanas will be broken down in an approachable way for practitioners at different levels. Special attention will be given to the role of the breath and we will also learn dynamic transitions while entering and exiting several arm balances. We will explore Chaturanga Dandasana, Bakasana (Crow Pose), Bhujapidasana (Shoulder-Pressing Pose), Eka Pada Koundiniyasana (Sage Koudinya’s Pose) and many others!

Iryna’s yoga journey started at the footsteps of Himalayas in India. From there she ventured through China and eventually reached California, where she now teaches throughout the Bay Area. Her yoga teachings are inspired by teachers Devorah Sacks, Saraswathi Jois, Mark Whitwell and Laruga Glaser.
