Revitalize your practice with skill yoga instructor, Ana Murphy and Ayurveda Health Educator, Melisa Moreno. Yoga and Ayurveda are sister practices that originated in India thousands of years ago. According to Ayurvedic principles, each of us has a unique mind-body constitution, called doshas. These doshas determine how we interact with the world; from what kind of food we eat and how we exercise to how we manage emotions and speak. They are our life’s blueprint!
In this workshop, you will learn about Ayurveda and how to approach yoga poses from an Ayurvedic perspective.
We will focus on getting familiar with:
– Ayurvedic constitution (doshas),
– Ayurvedic practices, such as nutrition, breathing (Pranayama) and -healthy routines,
– How to approach yoga poses for each dosha.
You will complete a short quiz to help you have a general idea of what your dosha may be.
We will also have a physical Yoga practice where you’ll apply Ayurvedic principles based on your dosha. You’ll learn how long to hold a pose, how fast your transitions should be, and how challenging the pose can be.
