Lunchtime Flow
A playful All Levels Flow class with vignettes of tension releasing postures to provide sweet relief for our work-crazed bodies and wound up minds. This is your chance to reset in the middle of the busy work day and take some time to move and breath. This class is set to upbeat music, in a comfortably cool room, and will offer modifications for beginners and advanced students to support everyone in need of a re-boot!
Warm Flow
In a gently heated room, students will find a steady Vinyasa based practice that focuses on linking breath and movement through a dynamic sequence of postures to build stability and strength. In combination with flow, postures will be held for several breaths to ease tension and create ease. This class will explore breath work, core strengthening exercises, strong standing sequences, and playful balancing postures. Designed to be accessible yet challenging for beginners, this level 1-2 class will have something for everyone including experienced students.
Vinyasa Flow
These classes weave together the building blocks of a grounded practice focusing on alignment, flexibility strength and play. We invite our students to move like themselves finding the freedom within the exploration of their own practice. We believe that the challenges that show up on the mat can be overcome and translate into how we approach the trials in our daily lives. Our Vinyasa teachers instruct in a way that invites students of all levels to come and explore their yoga journey while enjoying live music or tailored playlists that compliment the associated teachers style of class. As a beginner, intermediate or advanced student, we look forward to serving you at Symmetry Yoga!
Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga is a semi-active practice to rejuvenate and heal the body with a more restorative focus. This class is geared toward students who wish to move and build strength, but at a slower pace to calm the mind while increasing flexibility and body awareness. Yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bolsters, and straps are used for safe practice and to allow the body to fully achieve each position comfortably.
Hatha Flow
Hatha Yoga is the foundation of all other forms of holistic yoga. Ultimately Hatha is the expression of Yin and Yang, movement and stillness, putting forth effort and receiving the flow of life through surrender and breath. Hatha Flow combines breath and movement in a graceful flow that will encourage freedom in your joints, length in your muscles and somatic awareness throughout. This class will leave you enlivened and enthused with deep sense of well being. All ages, levels of experience and ability are welcome.
Friday Night Flow
Kick off your weekend with live music that will inspire you to move through an open level yoga class taught by Nikki Borodi. Whether you are new to yoga or a long time yogi, this class will invite you to deepen your experience of Vinyasa Flow. Through live music and movement we will find a sense of play in our practice, learning to listen to the body’s intuition, and how to move like your best self. Inspiring music will take you out of your head and into the spirit of sound that will carry you through a beautiful dance on your mat. We look forward to sharing in this special Friday night live music and yoga class at Symmetry every month. Class is held on the last Friday of every month and will have a different local musician for each event. Please see our Workshops + Events page for more details.
Restorative
This is a complete relaxation class. In each class, only a handful of poses are practiced. This method of yoga utilizes props for total support and to facilitate relaxation and deep ease. Each pose is held for about 10-15 minutes and feels like it’s own mini-meditation session. This practice is suitable for all levels. It can be especially helpful for people coping with stress, anxiety, grief, fatigue and physical injuries
Yin Yang Yoga
This holistic class balances the enlivening and strengthening aspects of a gentle Hatha Flow class with the more restorative and meditative qualities of Yin Yoga. We’ll start by opening the body slowly with some Yin postures, held between 3-5 minutes to target connective tissues and increase flexibility. From there we’ll make our way into a mindful breath-based hatha flow to build strength and body awareness. This class will close with deep restorative postures utilizing various props to support the body and allow for deep relaxation, sending you into the weekend rested and rejuvenated.
Community Flow
This is a vinyasa flow class open to all levels of practitioner. In this class you will synchronize breath with movement. The class will focus on creating a feeling of being grounded, dissolving anxiety and tension systematically through a present moment awareness of the feeling body, facilitated through conscious breathing. Students awaken their strength, energy, and flexibility in a fun atmosphere. The class will begin with sun salutations, progress through standing postures with a focus on balance, move into a seated series with an emphasis on forward folds, finally ending with finishing postures and a period for rest.
